Demo/Review Of New Show Pro Early Bird Pedal Steel

Post by Riggs Horton »

Howdy Y'all, Just thought I'd share my experience with y'all since there's not really much out there yet about Show Pro and Jimmie Hudson's latest Pedal Steel, the Early Bird. It's a standard S10 Emmons e9 setup with 3 floor pedals and 4 knee levers. It goes for $2195.00 at the moment. A pedal B's to C# B Pedal G#'s to A C Pedal E to F# B to C# LKL E to F LKR E to Eb RKL F# to G RKR D# to D D to C#. It has real pro adjustable legs on it, and the cabinet and hardware seem very solid. The in house wound Pickup has a very clean, sweet tone, and overall I'm very impressed. It was only 3 weeks from the time I put the order in till it was at my door, and it weighs just over 40lbs in the quality hard case that comes with it, very portable! This is actually my very first Pedal steel after playing Lap Steel And Dobro for 3 years, and I have found it very easy to play and transition to. I have a few clips of myself playing it here so y'all can get an idea of what it sounds like. Keep in mind that I've had it for just over a week, never played any pedal steel before, and not taken any lessons yet, just kind of messing around with it by ear, so it is pretty rough sounding.

If you want to get you one, which I definitely recommend, then contact Jimmie Hudson for more info

Here's another angle of it, it really is a beautiful guitar.

That might be the best looking student-model PSG there has ever been.
