Fender Tone Master 2-12, or new Peavey Nashville Session 1-15?
Considering a new, non-Quilter amp.
Anyone with an experience to share?
Thanks.

I have the Tonemaster Twin blackface model. It's ok but having seen the new Peavey Nashville/Session 400 I would trade in a heartbeat. I own 2 older twin reverbs that are glorious but too heavy to haul. I jumped on the Telonics TCA 500 bandwagon and the Quilter 202. The Peavey sounds far superior as a player and in the audience.

Thanks for the info Larry. I was first drawn to the Quilter PSG amp, when I perceived Fender and Peavey had turned to other larger markets...
Now, years later, it seems Quilter is following corporate suite (many more guitarists than PSG players).
I'm in no hurry, as my TT15 with the TB202 is still working fine, and quite portable.... but time marches on
I may be jumping the gun, until more of the new Peaveys are out being road tested.

Good idea. The Beta testing by a handful of players seems positive but production may change that. I hope it a success for the steel guitar market.

If it's solely for pedal steel, the Peavey Nashville Session 112.

Well.. I bit the bullet yesterday, and pre ordered the new Peavey Nashville Session 115 amp. Should get it in a few weeks, and I'll post my thoughts.
I must say though, one of my thoughts is the switch for changing the preamp from Nashville to Session seems to be a potential weak spot as time goes on......
Hope not

Do you prefer the 1x12 over the 1x15?
Thanks, Dave

I liked the 12" speaker a lot., and on the "Session/LTD" setting instead of the Nashville. The Tonemaster is good, but the DI isn't voiced for the steel guitar(you're married to only two Speaker IR options) and I'd probably change the speaker that comes with it.David Farrell wrote: 4 Jul 2025 7:59 pmEddy,Eddy Dunlap wrote: 2 Jul 2025 10:05 pm If it's solely for pedal steel, the Peavey Nashville Session 112.

Re: Fender Tone Master 2-12, or new Peavey Nashville Session 1-15?
Wow, thanks so much for all your comments..... great points.... I had kind of the same impression of the Tone Master stock speaker as Eddy.
I decided to go with the 115 on the new Peavey, mainly hoping the company is going to try to come close to the older BW 1501.....
but, without a named Celestion speaker, and no response graphs to go by.... well, it's just my best hunch.
Now, when I use my Bad Dawg (tube amp), I do find a 12" (PF 350) gives a better response.....
Guess I'll just have to wait till I have the new amp in my hot hands to find out
To be continued.....
