yes - they can actually do total noise cancellation (haven't tried that). in Transparency mode, there is a slider for how much outside noise to let in...
I haven't tested all that yet.
But Apple's Holiday return policy is that you have till January 15, so give it a go!

There is a "Loud Sound Reduction" function under Hearing Protection that can be used in conjunction with the Hearing Assistance (hearing aid) to limit loud noises. I've tested this and it seems to work quite well.Patrick Fleming wrote:The thing I want to know is, how do they work as earplugs when playing with a band that has a loud stage volume? will they limit the overall DB?
This is my first venture into the hearing aid world, but I'm pretty happy - especially with the cost. Less money for health = more money for guitars. Gotta keep your priorities straight

After trying different settings, combinations, etc. have found that a hearing aid in the left ear and Airpod in the right really works well. Added feature with the airpod is you can hear yourself singing much better, almost like a vocal monitor.

Yes, in my experience the Pro 2 model does this extremely if you use Adaptive Audio mode.Patrick Fleming wrote: 19 Nov 2024 6:23 am The thing I want to know is, how do they work as earplugs when playing with a band that has a loud stage volume? will they limit the overall DB?
